areas within Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise.
What type of equipment is needed to access Alaska Medicaid
Health Enterprise?
Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise is fully web enabled and can be accessed from
any computer with Internet access, anywhere in Alaska, or the world. A recipient,

Enterprise and conduct his or her business with the Alaska Medicaid program.

Health Enterprise?
Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise supports Internet Explorer versions 5.5 and greater.
What will be the specific connectivity requirements
for Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise in order for it to function at full capacity?
Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise is built with more advanced technology than the
current MMIS. The ability to take advantage of Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise
at full capacity depends on your office technology, internet connectivity based
on Alaska’s infrastructure limitations, and your ability to work with those
limitations. It is not within the scope of the Request For Proposal (RFP) to alter
or upgrade the communication/internet connectivity infrastructure statewide.
What are alternate plans for rural providers who have
limited internet access?
The new vendor, Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), is required in the Request For
Proposal (RFP) to “accept claims and other transactions via hardcopy, electronic
media, and Internet transmissions." Additionally, ACS and DHSS are assessing
who will need to access the MMIS web pages and where these populations are located
throughout the State. This information will be used to determine the possibility
of alternate web solutions. During the testing phase, of the MMIS project, testing
will be performed to determine if alternative solutions will be successful from
rural Alaskan communities.
