How were system requirements identified for the new MMIS, Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise?

In late 2006 the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit proposals for contractor services to replace the current Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS). The scope of the project is governed by the requirements detailed in the RFP.

Proposals were submitted through a competitive bidding process. In fall 2007 DHSS awarded the contract to Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), a Xerox company, to design, develop, implement, and operate a new MMIS, Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise.

ACS staff is working with a designated DHSS team to create the new MMIS, Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise. The new system is being built in response to the RFP.

When will Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise go live?

The new MMIS, Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise, will be implemented Spring 2012. Schedule updates will be posted to this site.
