Welcome! This website provides information regarding the new Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) project. The new MMIS project is in support of the Alaska Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS) priorities to promote technology for sustainable and effective health care delivery, to develop an integrated and comprehensive model of care and to promote rural infrastructure development. The new MMIS, known as Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise, will be available to providers and recipients (also known as members) who participate in the medical assistance programs, including:
  • Medicaid
    • Denali Kidcare
    • Home and Community Based Waiver Services
  • Chronic and Acute Medical Assistance (CAMA)
  

Provider Enrollment and Re-Enrollment

July 1-30, 2013 "Boot Camp" in-person training for fiscal agent staff
August 1, 2013 Business transformation CBT courses for DHSS posted to the learning management system
August 1-Sept. 27, 2013 Instructor-led training for enrolled medical assistance providers available
August 1-Sept. 27, 2013 “Boot Camp” in-person training* (incorporating instructor-led classes that will be broadcast via simulcast webinar) for DHSS state staff
April 15-Aug. 15, 2013 DHSS conducts User Testing
August 15, 2013-Sept. 27, 2013 Operational Readiness Testing and final implementation preparations

Trading Partner Certification testing for the new Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise will begin August 5, 2013

All Trading Partners currently submitting X12 transactions to the Alaska MMIS system are required to complete certification testing to submit transactions in the new Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise system.

All trading partners (i.e. direct submitters, billing services, clearinghouses, and software vendors) should be ready to begin their testing on August 5, 2013 to ensure their timely compliance on the new Alaska Medicaid Health Enterprise system.
